Champions League Semi-Final: Jose Be Warned...

Zaakir HoosenApr 6, 2010

After a sumptuous night out in Europe, Barcelona simply destroyed Arsene Wenger's hopes of European glory.

On a night where Leonel Messi simply displayed his finishing ability, the Argentinian International delighted fans at the Nou Camp with four goals.

Arsenal struggled without many experienced players the likes of Fabregas, Arsharvin, Van Persie and William Gallas. But that's no excuse as Barcelona were also short of some of there big names in Puyol (suspended), Pique (suspended), Ibrahimovich (injured). With Henry and Iniesta on the bench, Barca still held the ball and had majority of the possession.

With Xavi controlling the center and having Alves, Bojan and Pedro to help counter Arsenal feeding Messi, the task at hand was always going to be tough.

Now the first of two semi finals have been set with Barcelona to face Inter Milan in what will be another thrilling encounter.

Jose Mourinho "The Special One" will have to once again rally his troops to lift their game against a hungry Barca team, who will look to retain the title, the first team to do so since the inception of the Champions League.

But Mourinho's task will be cut out, as he needs to come up with a plan to keep Messi of the ball, something that no team has been able to so successfully.

Pep Guardiola will now focus his attention to the weekend when Barcelona will play Real Madrid in one of the most anticipated matches of the season.

So as we look ahead to the World Cup in South Africa, Messi will look to sparkle the world with more special moments, the likes of which he created tonight.

Now we wait until the night when Inter take on Barca, a match up that will see two teams with contrasting styles, world class players and expecting another interesting and mouth watering game.

Tomorrow will see another massive game when Manchester United will face Bayern Munich with a 2-1 deficit. Wayne Rooney is a doubt after speculation that he will feature in the game, last Friday Rooney was confirmed to be sidelined for up-to three weeks will damaged ligaments.
