UFC Invincible Predictions

UFC 112 Predictions:

UNDERCARD:

Jon Madsen vs. Mustapha Al Turk – Jon Madsen has great wrestling but I don’t think it will be enough. I see Al Turk catching Madsen in the second round to get his first UFC victory.

Winner – Mustapha Al Turk (TKO Strikes – Rd. 2)

Paul Kelly vs. Matt Veach - This should be a good one. Veach is a promising prospect in the Lightweight division and I see him using his wrestling to overcome Kelly and win by decision.

Winner – Matt Veach (Unanimous Decision)

DeMarques Johnson vs. Brad Blackburn – Blackburn’s record is not so impressive but he has looked pretty decent in his UFC fights. I think he could catch DeMarques in the third round and finish him.

Winner – Brad Blackburn (TKO Strikes – Rd. 3)

Nick Osipczak vs. Rick Story – Nick was impressive whilst on the Ultimate Fighter and even though he didn’t win the show, he was given a shot in the UFC. He has won his two previous fights in the UFC and I see him winning this one by TKO in the second round.

Winner – Nick Osipczak (TKO Strikes – Rd. 2)

Paul Taylor vs. John Gunderson – Paul Taylor should use his size advantage to put Gunderson away. Knockout in the second round is my prediction.

Winner – Paul Taylor (KO Punches – Rd. 2)

Alexander Gustafsson vs. Phil Davis – Alexander is up-and-coming prospect who has looked impressive so far in his UFC career. I see him beating Phil David by a split decision.

Winner – Alex Gustafsson (Split Decision) 

MAIN CARD:

Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz – This should make for a solid bout. I think it will be closely contested in the first round but Grove will put Munoz away in the second round.

Winner – Kendall Grove (KO Punches – Rd. 2)

Terry Etim vs. Rafael dos Anjos – This isn’t usually my forte but Rafael’s name is so cool that I am picking him to win this bout by unanimous decision.

Winner – Rafael dos Anjos (Unanimous Decision)

Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie – I believe we’ll see a closely contested fight with great back-and-fourth jiu-jitsu exhibited. In the end, I have Matt Hughes pulling out a split decision.

Winner – Matt Hughes (Split Decision)

BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar (UFC Lightweight Championship) – I just don’t feel that Frankie is on BJ’s level at this point. I see BJ Penn winning this one comfortably by TKO in Round 2.

Winner – BJ Penn (TKO Strikes – Rd. 2)

Anderson Silva vs Demian Maia (UFC Middleweight Championship) – Similar to the Penn/Edgar match. Demian Maia won’t be able to escape Silva’s devastating clinch. Anderson Silva will not Maia out with vicious knees in Round 2.

Winner – Anderson Silva (KO Knees – Rd. 2)
