Superstar Treatment Bothers Me!

So the other day when I was watching the Celtics blow a huge lead I got pretty upset. I mean I am huge Celtics fan and have loved and watched them for as long as I can remember. So naturally as a fan that 17 point 4th quarter lead that they blew got to me. We can probably all agree that the game got pretty intense and at times out of hand. It started with the Cavs coach getting ejected over a call the refs should have made. But regardless of that, technicals were flying every which way. Except the refs somehow did everything in their power to try and keep the techs away from one man.

LeBron James.

The poster child of the NBA, yes he did get one tech, should have been tossed from this game. He was complaining every time he didn't get the call he wanted, he was basically at one point in the Celtics huddle running his mouth, and to top it off clearly had a bone to pick with KG. He was doing anything he wanted and got away with it. I mean Rasheed did his whole Rasheed melt downthing that we hadn't seen in a while , and he got a tech right away.

Now I understand Rasheed is no LeBron and he never was or never will be. The league hates Rasheed no doubt about it. But even so, you cannot justify the fact that LeBron probably could have punched a Celtic player and have gotten away with it. It just isn't fair that he gets to get away with anything he wants AND gets every freakin foul called his way.

I am just sick and tired of the superstar treatment players are getting these days. The Wade's,Melo's, King James, hell even Durant is getting special treatment ( or shall I say Michael F***ing Jordan). O and don't forget Kobe. 

Now don't get me wrong I'll be the first to admit that at times I am really biased towards my home town teams, but I can't remember when any Celtic in this past decade got treated like those guys do. I mean you can't deny that Pierce is definitely an upper echelon player ( or atleast in his real prime could be almost unstoppable) but I can't remember when he got treatment like those guys.

I could rant forever on how the NBA has gone soft with foul calls and special treatment  I'm sure someone could refute every single one of my points. But no one can actually sit there and legitimately tell me that players don't get special treatment. I understand the NBA is a Business first and Entertainment second, but sometimes I lose interest in games, any games, where I hear biased announcers salivating over some players or when anytime the "superstars" get looked at wrong it is a foul on the other team; It is just getting un-entertaining for me as a fan of sports. And I'm sure I am not the only one who feels like this either.
