Peter Abraham writes for the Boston Red Sox

Sean SerritellaApr 3, 2010

Peter Abraham writes for the Boston Red Sox. Look at the title. Itโ€™s hard to comprehend. Hard to understand.

Once upon a timeโ€ฆ there was a blog writer with a lot of talent for bringing Yankee fans, Yankee news. He was one of the best if not thee best at giving you the up to date info on our Yankees. No one was able to touch him. All he had to do was mention your blog and the next thing you know, you had a ton of hits to your site.ย  He was so good at what he did that heโ€™d have five pages of game threads from Yankee fans posting about the game. He was our guy. Our go to guy. He was like a cult figure to us. We loved him and hoped he loved us.

Then some thing strange happened. Out of the blue, he announced he was going to the other side. The dark side. The enemy. He was leaving us and the fan base that he created and going to another place. A place that no one can comprehend. He was going toโ€ฆ

The Red Sox.

It hurt us. We wanted to know why. Of all teams he would go to, why the Red Sox? Why not the Tampa Bay Rays or the Detroit Tigers? I mean, he had to choose our most hated rival?

His choice showed that it was just a job to him and he really didnโ€™t have passion for the Yankees like some Yankee fans probably believed. (If Iโ€™m not mistaken, I think heโ€™s an Atlanta Braves fan.)

If you look at his newest blog at Boston.com, itโ€™s not as successful as his blog at Lohud was. Give Peter time. I predict by the end of the year that his game threads will be two to three pages long and if the Red Sox make the playoffs which would only help him, four pages long.

Iโ€™ll never forget the last day however when he said good bye and a lot of Yankee fans were sad and wished him luck. Just like that however, they turned on him just like they felt he turned on them.

It is a business and you have to look out for yourself and your family first. Understood Peter.

However, being a fan of a certain baseball team gives us the right to like who we want and who we donโ€™t want. As of now, Peter Abraham is no longer in the New York Yankees family. Heโ€™s part of the Red Sox family and red sox is a dirty word especially around these parts.

Youโ€™re either with the Yankees or against us. Pete is in Red Sox country promoting all things Red Sox. Is Peter now our enemy? Iโ€™ll let you make the call on that one..
