Randy Oton As A Face:Why This Could Be a Success Or a Great failure

This is my first article on bleacher report and i have chosen to discuss the potential of Randy ortons recent face turn which realy became official this past monday night during a tag team match between randy orton and john cena vs batista and jack swagger.

Why it could be a great success?

During the late 90's early 2000's the wwe had its greatest era in history, this was know as attitude era and the reason i am talking about this is because we were introduced to one of the greatest wwe superstars in history. This man was none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin.

During the early stages of Austin's career he was marketed as a heel but the fans cheered for him none the less. This made Austin turn face and he became bigger than any other wrestler in history.

Orton is very similar to austin in almost every way, he was also marketed as heel but fans have also began to cheer him and he has now turned face.

The rko and the stunner are very similar moves that can strike at any moment.  

Now if Orton is to stay face he should become the hell raiser that Austin was during the late 90's and early 2000's and not a guy like Cena who seems to respect everyone, even though i like cena i would like to see orton go down a different path.

if Orton is to do this he should develope a lot of his own character to mix into to this and maybe become the cocky sycopath who raises hell. This would make for great programing and would grab a lot of doubters of the wwe attention and make them interested again.

Imagine orton as a bad ass it would be great and definitely something i would be watching the programme for and it would realy bring back the days of the attitude era which seems to be what everyone wants.

Why it could be a great Failure?

Though there is concern because it seems the WWE creative teem doesn't know how to use orton and over his time in wwe all they have done is chuck him into stable after stable which cause great concern for his career. let's face it the creative team in the wwe has become realy lazy and haven't come up with amazing storylines that gets everyone talking in years.

So why would they go to a great effort to make Orton the biggest face in the company and not just be lazy and stick him in another tag team. 

Orton is know where near as good as Austin was on the microphone which would be a big part of his character and could be a massive problem.

The biggest problem is that it could knock him down the pecking order behind the obvious face of the company Cena and HHH. This is my main concern as it's got me asking myself can Orton compete with HHH and Cena? Mainly cena as he seems to be the golden boy back stage and even HHH can't compete with him as top face.

The batista heel turn is a prime example of Orton being knocked down the pecking order. When batista turned heel he seemed to replace Orton as top heel in the buisness.

What most fans want is a Austin styled Orton but i don't see this face turn lasting long and we will soon see him as a heel again.
