Daily Market Watch: Slow Action Heading Into Break
Moving Today's Market
It’s been a slow start to today’s market. The two games at 1 p.m. aren’t drawing much interest. Bettors may be scared off of Rich Harden’s Cubs debut due to the -265 (Cris). Harden (5-1, 2.34 ERA) gets the soft-hitting Giants in his first NL start. The Yankees send rookie Darrell Rasner (4-7, 494) to the mound against the Blue Jays, and are drawing less interest than usual. The Rockies-Mets match up is drawing a lot of early interest. Most bets are going with New York and Pedro Martinez (3-2, 6.86), even though Martinez was lit up for 6 runs by the Rockies on June 21. Coloradostarter Ubaldo Jimenez (4-8, 4.21) has dominated the Mets lineup, which has only collected 2 hits in 31 at-bats against him. The Angels and Ervin Santana (10-3, 3.53) are slight favorites on the road against the A’s, due to Santana’s previous dominance of Oakland (8-1, 1.48 ERA in career.)

Key Market Moves
There hasn’t been a significant amount of movement in lines today, which means few Steam Moves were stimulated. Two teams have received multiple Smart Money alerts. The Rockies have received alerts triggered by three separate books (two of which have positive results), and the Braves have received two alerts from different books (both have positive results.)
