SAN FRANCISCO - AUGUST 22: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Arnaz Battle #83 tries to break free from Oakland Raiders Oakland Raiders cornerback Stanford Routt # 26 during the 1st quarter as the San Francisco 49ers host the Oakland Raiders at Candlestick Park August 22, 2009 in San Francisco, California. So fellow Raider fan's what kind of tender does a cornerback who dont even crack the starting lineup get ? For most teams they might let the player go and go another route, but as luck has it Routt makes Al Davis feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He is a classic speedster Davis pick who hasnt panned out and has not lived up to what Al Davis had in mind. Not to let any other team still his glory Al Davis the grand master gave the barely used Routt a raise.

To me this is the straw that broke the camel's back. This is beyond shameful and a sad day to be a Raider fan. A player as in Kirk Morrison who has been the team's leading tackler and one of the best linebackers for the team (with little help in front of him) was only given a 3rd round tender. Routt on the other hand who's play on the field is not good at all and gets beat  like he owes someone money was given a first and third round tender and not this is not april fools day this really did happen.

The move shows without a reasonable doubt that Davis needs to step down and live the retired life. His ways do not work no more and bring shame to Raider fans. A move like this will be the butt of jokes for a long time. Can any Raider fan who knows anything about football defend this move? What kind of arguement can you make for this. This is exactly why Jamarcus will be starting this season not becasue of his play but because Al Davis has to much damn pride to be wrong. Instead he will watch this team go down in flames as it has done for the last seven years.

Al Davis you had a great run you were one of the best but as with anything what goes up must come down. And you my friend have been down for the 10 count for years now. Your rebel attitude and ways are outdated like disco music. You are like any other great man in sports that does not know when to let go. This pathetic move you made has brought shame to Raider Nation. You make us look like fools for putting faith in you. Stop this madness and give it up.
