For those of us who have been waiting for the shiznit to hit the fan on SmackDown!, this is your time to smile ear to ear. Thanks to Batista, CM Punk, MVP and Triple H, La Familia may have bit off more than they can chew. It's official: The Iron Fist of SmackDown! has been broken down.
Here is the SmackDown! Rebound!
Divas United
For over a month, GM Vickie Guerrero had been talking about a Divas Championship that would be exclusively for SmackDown! and ECW. Last night on SmackDown!, we all finally saw the newest prize in the Divas Division. Natalya was hoping for a free ride all the way to the Divas Championship, but there were a few Divas who begged to differ.
After last night's broadcast, Natalya now knows two things: What the Divas Championship looks like and who her opponent will be. Michelle McCool outlasted four other Divas in the second Golden Dreams Match to earn her shot at the new championship. Dare I say it: Finally, Vickie got the memo!
Fatal Fourth of July
After surviving the onslaught of Chavo and Bam Neely at Night of Champions, Matt Hardy had to deal with Chavo plus two other contenders last night in a Fatal Four Way 4th of July Match for the United States Championship.
After Shelton and Chavo couldn't get things done with their offensive, Kennedy and Matt showed that being fan favorites is a good thing. After Hardy sent Kennedy over the top to an unexpecting Bam Neely, he recovered long enough to hit the Twist of Fate on Chavo for his third straight victory over the Latin Warrior this week.
When Adversaries Collide
After last week's RAW, two of the flagship's biggest stars were sent over to SmackDown! On Friday, the Samoan Bulldozer made short work of his opponent Funaki. After last week's fiasco, it was clear that Umaga was still fuming and unfortunately for Funaki, he happened to be in his path of destruction.
But if that wasn't enough for him, SD! also saw the arrival/return of Jeff Hardy. Though the rainbow haired Warrior didn't have a good ending to his time on RAW, he did have a great start to his tenure on SmackDown! as he laid it down on the Tuesday Night Delight, John Morrison. It's clear that these two former enemies will meet sooner or later and possibly pick up where One Night Stand left off.
The Game's New Challenge
After a successful title defense against John Cena, the 12x Champion spent his Friday night on the VIP Lounge with MVP. After watching the footage of Monday night's fallout, SmackDown!'s Franchise Playa and King of Kings traded wisecracks about Edge's situation.
This prompted the arrival of Guerrero who gave them a warning to behave themselves because her fiancee was on his way and wasn't in good mood. The Game however chose to give his new boss the location of a good Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas that would only cost them $40 bucks and neither would have to be conscious.
After the wisecracks, the GM went on to inform the Cerebral Assassin that he would be defending the WWE Championship against Edge at The Great American Bash in two weeks.
