Game Recap

June 29, 2008

Dark Match:

Jeff Hardy defeated MVP in a dark match after he hit the Swanton Bomb.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:

John Morrison and the Miz retained their titles against Finlay and Hornswoggle, after Morrison pinned Hornswoggle when he missed the "Tadpole Splash".

WWE United States Championship Match:

Matt Hardy defeated Chavo Guerrero after the Twist of Fate, thus retaining his United States Championship.

ECW Championship Match:

Mark Henry won the ECW Championship after hitting Kane with "The World's Strongest Splash".

World Tag Team Championship match:

Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes won the World Tag Team Championship after Cody turned on Holly during the match. (my prediction was correct) :)

Intercontinental Championship Match:

Kofi Kingston won the Intercontinental Championship from Chris Jericho after Jericho was distracted by HBK. (again my prediction was correct). :)

(I was hoping Kofi would be getting a push, but this may be a bit soon.)

Women's Championship Match:

Mickie James retained her Womens Title title after she hit a DDT on Katie Lea.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Batista lost his last match as part of Smackdown against Edge after Edge hit him with the World Heavyweight title and covered him for the pin (Chavo made the three count, go figure). This was a very good competitive match, but Edge remains World Champion.

WWE Championship Match:

Triple H retained the WWE Championship against John Cena after Triple H reversed a FU into a Perigee for the win and leaving Raw without ANY World Champion. I found this to be an upset after Edge won—I was for sure Cena was walking out Champ.

Well most of my predictions were correct,  a solid Pay-Per-View; not great, but solid. I was also surprised at how many titles switched hands. The PPV seemed kinda left on the back burner after the draft, but was still awesome.
