Going into our second week headed to our first SuperBowl I think people should know that this goes way deeper than the super Saints and there super fans. I know football fans around the country are rooting for us but why? Is it because we are a worthy opponent or is it because we are looked upon with pity because we were victims of a hurricane.

Lets get one thing straight , the people of New Orleans are not victims but survivors who survived a natural disaster that did not intentionally target us because we have strip clubs and bars that stay open all night or because we party to much. We have been through allot and the Saints have given us reason to believe as a people that we are worth rebuilding and putting back together.

Recovery from something like Katrina is a long process and through that process you need time to retreat, and reflect on something other than the stressful task at hand. Hell my own mother, who was a nurse trapped and abandoned in Baptist Memorial Hospital for four days, has never and will never be able to work in another hospital again. She has suffered severe post traumatic stress and will never be the same but will any of us? My mother is also a saints fan and when she is watching that game guess what she's not thinking about.

The Saints are a team of men , not gods. Do we really think Drew Brees is Jesus? No. Do we really say prayers and give thanks to Breesus ? No. The Saints are something tangible that make us feel legitimate.

Pull for us because we are humble.Pull for us because we believed. Pull for us because we don't take it for granted , Pull for us because we have the talent and the testicular fortitude to go after it in spite of what everyone else thinks. We don't want to win because it would be the perfect ending to the perfect underdog story. We want to win because we are capable of winning.

Nothing would make us happier than to win the SuperBowl but if we don't we will greet OUR Saints at the airport to say thank you and we will be there again next year with our who dat shirts and our who dat signs prayin and sayin bless you boys!  We survived Katrina, crooked politicians, and FEMA believe me loosing the SuperBowl won't do us in.

Katrina is something that happened to us it does not define us. The last time NewOrleans made history was because of a disaster now we are making history because we have a football team that has earned there way to the SuperBowl for the first time.

This is a good thing, this is what I want people to associate New Orleans with . So please do not feel sorry for us because honey,  you don't get to the SuperBowl because people feel sorry for you , you get to the SuperBowl because your that damn good! WHO DAT!!!
