Auburn Football Recruiting: Why The Tigers Class Will Be So Good
This has been the smoothest and least problematic recruiting season I can ever remember at Auburn.
This can be directly attributed to the coaching staff. They were simply better organized and more efficient than their competition. They had a better plan, and have created a better environment to lure recruits.Ā
Every member of the current recruiting class is expected to qualify and be admitted to Auburn University. This was a huge past problem, but not this year.
Shon Coleman is being reported as a problem. However, he is all about Auburn and simply wants to travel and see what these other programs look like. We all know none are light years better, so he will be a Tiger.
Trovon Reed is, and always has been, an Auburn Tiger since his commitment. He visited LSU out of respect for his high school coach, who is an LSU alumnus. Reed will be an Auburn Tiger in 2010.
DJ Howard loves Auburn. He does not like the thought of competing for carries with two five-star running backs. Howard has told Clemson he is committed to Auburn for now and will make his decision on Feb 3. He could wind up at Clemson or Kentucky.
Jeffrey Whitaker is a huge defensive tackle that is key to helping shore up the Auburn defensive line for 2010. Every indication is he will sign with Auburn. Ā
Corey Lemonier is a defensive end that Auburn is very high on. It has been a struggle between Auburn and Florida State. Auburn seems to have a sleight edge, he will likely be a Tiger. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
Byran Jones is another coveted defensive tackle that Auburn really recruited hard. He was considered an Arkansas lean, but Auburn has closed the gap. I think Auburn will get good news from this young man. He is an Auburn man January 31. He will be signing to Auburn on Feb 3.
Marcus Lattimore is a highly recruited running back. He is considered a South Carolina lean. I think he announces himself an Auburn Tiger on Feb 2.Ā
The followingĀ uncommitted recruits are considering a visit to Auburn this weekend:
There are five positions to be filled. If any of the current commits bolt it will make six.
I think Auburn finishes with Whitaker, Jones, Lemonier, Lattimore and a surprise. I think Auburn will lose one commitment.
If I am right, Auburn should finish with the second or third ranked recruiting class in the nation. It will also be easily the highest rated class in Auburn history. Ā
