OG Mike Iupati Impressive at Senior Bowl | 2010 NFL Draft Projections

Like every year in the NFL, many teams will be looking to strengthen their respective offensive lines through the draft. Out of all the linemen taken in each draft, it seems a rookie lineman or two come out and have an impact right away for their respective teams.

Last year, the Baltimore Ravens selected tackle Michael Oher in the first round and were rewarded with strong play throughout the season.

This year's draft has a promising group of linemen and one player is making a big impression at the Senior Bowl practices already: former Idaho guard Mike Iupati .

Listed around 6'5" and 325 pounds, Iupati is a great fit for any team's left guard position but at the Senior Bowl, coaches have been working him out at left and right tackle.

So far, the early returns on Iupati is that he is best suited for the guard position but coaches and scouts believe he has promising potential as a future tackle in the NFL.

Lions' offensive coordinator Scott Linehan went so far as to say that Iupati is obviously the best player that will play at the Senior Bowl and is an instant fantasy help.

It's players like Iupati that fantasy football owners should pay some attention to on NFL draft day. When a player like this stands out, and his draft status rise into being a clear first round pick, running backs and fellow position players could see a rise in value on the team this player is drafted on.

Just look at this past year when Oher went to the Ravens and helped open holes for Ray Rice.

Having an impact lineman on an NFL team can bring instant production to a fantasy player that might have suffered a season before because an inefficient player is  in that very position.

Personally, I would like to see Iupati stay at his natural left guard position as I feel he would have his best impact there to help fantasy players.

Nevertheless, Iupati is now a player that is worth taking note of on NFL draft day and monitoring his progress throughout the offseason.
