Xavier Nady and Chien-Ming Wang Rumor Updates
Itโs been a slow offseason for two former Yankees who are coming off major surgery, Chien-Ming Wang off shoulder surgery and Xavier Nady off Tommy John surgery, MLB-offseason-buzz-012010">but we have updates for both of them today.
Wangโs update comes to us via Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Rosenthal caught up with Alan Nero for some updates. Nero said that Wang is expected to throw off a mound in the next week or two.
โEverything is going extraordinarily well,โ Nero said. โWeโre anticipating a major-league offer with a substantial guarantee and substantial upside.

He also told Rosenthal that at least six teams have asked to look at Wangโs medical records and that he is currently training at Fischer Sports in Phoenix. There is no word on exactly which teams are among those six, but from previous reports we do know that the Cardinals and the Mets are two of them.
As for Nady, Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi teamed up on this one. The latest news is that the Cubsโ top choice among outfielders is Jermaine Dye, but unless his contract demands are lowered they will turn to their No. 2 optionโthe X-man.
Also, according to Nadyโs agent Scott Boras, Nady is still on track to be ready to go when spring training starts. He is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery.
