La Liga Preview: Real Valladolid Vs. FC Barcelona
Barcelona went into the break first and unbeaten, 5 pts. ahead of Real after Real lost to Bilbao and Barca themselves defeated Sevilla 4-0.
But Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola claims finishing the first half of the Primera Division season unbeaten would mean nothing ahead of their trip to Real Valladolid.
A win against Valladolid would see Barca stay first and at least 5 points ahead of Real, who face Malaga on Sunday.
Pep Guardolia extended his contract this week with Barca, putting end to rumors that he would leave.
In the center of midfield Barca are lacking with Yaya Toure at the African Cup of Nations while Sergio Busquests will miss the game through injury.
Two of Barca's central defenders, Marquez, who has had a rough go this season, and Pique, can fill in at central midfield.
Ibrahimovic will start despite him going off form, scoring just two goals in the last 7 matches. The striker has notched 13 goals this season.
Lionel Messi did not have his best performance ever versus Sevilla but still managed to score two goals, a feat quality players are able to do, still manage to score despite having a bad game.
Valladolid have just one once in their last 5 matches and are fighting relegation
They know Barca are the favorites to win this one but they feel they might be able to knick something off the champions.
Sisi will miss out for Valladolid through injury.
PREDICTION:
I feel Barcelona will go on to this match and dominate.
Valladolid's home form has been poor and they have not gotten many results against team in the top half of the table
Barcelona have the second highest scoring record in the league while Valladolid have the most goals against, while Barca also have the best defensive record in the league, allowing just 6 goals along with Real.
Valladolid are a good team but they just don't have what it takes to hang with the champions.
Barcelona 4-0 Real Valladolid
