Could Edge Be Returning by the WWE Royal Rumble?

Reports have been floating around that Edge's physical rehab is ahead of schedule, and that he could return as early as the Royal Rumble.

This could make for a very interesting evening on the eve of the Rumble.  Edge has been out for months after suffering a nasty Achilles injury and has since been the subject of some of Jericho's slanderous remarks.

Edge is most likely going to return as a face and have a feud with Jericho after what they have set up during Edge's time off.  The question is, how will he return?

Some have predicted that he will cost Jericho the Rumble, setting up a match between the two for Wrestlemania 26.  Others have said he may come into the Rumble as a surprise 30th entrant and win the whole thing.

Cena returned in similar fashion after an injury and he received a huge ovation that night.  Edge has been a heel for so long that fans are dying to see him be the good guy again.

Edge is without a doubt one of the best heels of the current era.  He is a great mic man, one of the best today in fact, and he can back up every word with amazing in ring performances.  His matches with Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels, Christian, and many others have made numerous highlight reels and DVDs.

I for one love Edge as the sadistic heel, but I miss the days when he would come through the smoke and the building would erupt.  When he used to be a tag team guy he was considered one of the best, now that he is a singles guy, he is still one of the best.

I hope WWE has the brains to bring Edge back with the flair and grandeur he deserves.  He is without a doubt a hall of fame candidate and one of the most entertaining wrestlers in WWE history. 

Smackdown has not been the same without the Rated R superstar and it is time for him to come back and reign supreme in the land of Smackdown.
