NFL Early Entry 2010 Draft List

Ricky WriterJan 20, 2010

Kevin Basped, DE, Nevada

At 6'6" 240 lbs. He seems a little light in the britches to play DE in the league, and 6'6" seems too tall to be able to move well as an OLB. Just at first glance, 9.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles this past season as a second-team selection to the Western Athletic Conference's all-league team doesn't sound like he made the right choice to leave school early. I could be wrong, only seen the kid play one time against SMU, so my jury is still out.

Can't blame the kid. Superb talent on a sucky team with unstable quarterback play. To stay at Illinois might have made him worse.

NFL&id=5623" target="_blank">Eric Berry , DB Tennessee

I take Eric Berry for granted. I'll admit it. He's not as instinctive as Ed Reed and not the athlete or hitter of Sean Taylor, but often times you never really heard his name called this past year. For a defensive player that's a great thing, because that means he's doing his job. He didn't make as many plays as Earl Thomas, because he was playing in the box. Also, playing for Monte Kiffin helped him tremendously this year. So it was a good decision for Berry to dip.

Jahvid Best , RB California

Should he have left? Hell yes, it was a no brainer. He suffered two concussions and one knocked him out for the rest of the year. Get your money while you can homie.

Navorro Bowman, LB Penn State

This school is a freaking linebacker factory. Bowman is just as good as those who have come before him and left school early. No brainer decision for him as well.

Sam Bradford , QB Oklahoma

Absolutely had to leave. Should have left last year and is this year's poster boy for all 53 kids leaving early this year.

Desmond Briscoe, WR Kansas

If Mangini is still there, I would have stayed. He's not a lock for the first round, which he would have been had he and Mangini returned. Eh, lose your head coach and quarterback...I'd bolt if I were him.

Antonio Brown , WR Central Michigan

Don't know much about the kid to be honest. He's in the same situation that Briscoe is in, but Briscoe has the size to get people's attention. Brown does have DeSean Jackson like punt return abilities, along with DeSean Jackson size that will scare some scouts. I think Brown should have stayed overall.

Dez Bryant , WR Oklahoma State

With all the mess he dealt with this year, yes it was self-inflicted, he has to leave. Will be the first wideout off the board too.

Bryan Bulaga , T Iowa

Morgan Burnett , DB Georgia Tech

Bruce Campbell , T Maryland

Jimmy Clausen , QB Notre Dame

Really didn't get it together until this year in my opinion. I thought he was over hyped his first two years and then this year he proved to me he was well worth it. The Clausens are like the Marbury's in basketball. Let's hope Jimmy is Stephon and makes it, but let's hope he keeps his head on straight his whole career also.

Rennie Curran , LB Georgia

Should have stayed in school. Georgia will be better next year. He's only a 3rd rounder at best this year.

Anthony Davis , T Rutgers

Carlos Dunlap , DE Florida

Florida fans and coaches want him to stay. Scouts are on the fence. When he's consistent he's lethal, but he went MIA in more games that a first round draft pick should go this year. In his case, if he leaves now, he gets paid. If he stays and continues his inconsistent play, his draft status will only get worse. I think he should have stayed and proved he can dominate.

Jonathan Dwyer , RB Georgia Tech

Really on the fence about this one. If he stays, he goes higher next year, but the shelf life of a running back is never long either and everyone this year seems to be weary of the "Bradford bumps and bruises"

Dominique Franks , DB Oklahoma

Clifton Geathers, DE South Carolina

Thaddeus Gibson , DE Ohio State

Jermaine Gresham, TE Oklahoma

He has to leave. He should have left last year.

Everson Griffen , DE Southern California

Rob Gronkowski, TE Arizona

Learning from other people's mistakes, i.e. Jermaine Gresham. Smart move homie.

Joe Haden , DB Florida

What Ted Ginn would have been had he played his natural position of corner. Good move by Haden, he's the best corner in the nation, in the best conference. Why not leave?

Aaron Hernandez , TE Florida

Jeremey Shockey clone. A very wise decision to leave, plus he's already got a ring.

Kareem Jackson , DB Alabama

Eh, should have stayed. I don't know about you but a second round evaluation isn't going to make me leave school early.

Chad Jones , DB Louisiana State

Berry and Mays are going to get all the love, but this kid might end up being the best in the pros out of all of them. Good decision to leave early.

Reshad Jones, DB Georgia

Reshad Joseph, DT East Carolina

Darius Marshall , RB Marshall

Ryan Mathews , RB Fresno State

The best running back in the state of California last year. Yes, that was the same state that Jahvid Best and Toby Gerhart were in. People laughed at me when I said this of Chris Johnson two year ago. Watch, Mathews will be a star!

Rolando McClain , LB Alabama

No brainer here.

Gerald McCoy , DT Oklahoma

Duh! Top five pick, yep, I'd be gone too if I were him.

Joe McKnight , RB Southern California

Did he leave because he knew he was going to be ineligible? Never quite was Reggie Bush and don't think one more year was going to make him drastically better. So, eh wouldn't have hurt him either way.

Shawnbrey McNeal , RB Southern Methodist

Probably the worst decision out of these 53 kids. Should have stayed. Just needed one more breakout year, which is going to happen for the Mustangs this upcoming season. We know you have the talent, but patience is a virtue my man.

Carlton Mitchell , WR South Florida

Joshua Moore, DB Kansas State

Derrick Morgan , DE Georgia Tech

Top 15 pick, yeah, I think that's a good decision to leave school early.

Jerell Norton, DB Arkansas

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE South Florida

Maurkice Pouncey , C Florida

Brian Price , DT UCLA

Dennis Rogan, DB Tennessee

Jevan Snead , QB Mississippi

Did I say Shawnbrey McNeal was the worst choice. Sorry, I was wrong. It's right here. Just because you've graduated school doesn't mean you've graduated college quarterback. Snead had a horrendous year. Ole Miss had every opportunity to play at a higher level this year and the bulk of their ability not to live up to their potential was because of Snead's poor play. I think the kid is weak to be honest. When he had to fight Colt McCoy for the starting QB job at Texas he bailed. Now that he has to fight to prove to Ole Miss, fans, teammates, and coaches that he can play better and isn't a one year wonder...he bails.

Amari Spievey , DB Iowa

Golden Tate , WR Notre Dame

Can he have a better year next year than this year? Probably not. Good move son.

Demaryius Thomas , WR Georgia Tech

I don't see GA Tech changing their offense anytime soon, and the kid is a stud wideout. His stock wasn't really going to improve if he stayed.

Earl Thomas , DB Texas

Same situation as Golden Tate.

Donovan Warren , DB Michigan

Under the radar, but the sleeper out of these 53 opting to leave early.

Damian Williams , WR Southern California

Good move, but might have gone higher if he stayed because USC QB, Matt Barkley, is only going to get better.

Mike Williams , WR Syracuse

Jason Worilds, DE Virginia Tech

Major Wright , DB Florida

Too many safeties are better than him, and he needs to work on his coverage skills more. Bad move.

That's all I got,
