The Top Five wrestlers in the business today: #5 Samoa Joe

SAMOA JOE. That's right The "Samoan Submission Machine" in my #5 pick for the greatest wrestlers today.

Joe started his career over in Japan before coming over Ring of Honor in early 2001. In Ring of Honor Joe honed his craft and slowly got better every day. He started out as  Christopher Danelis' bodyguard, but slowly rose trough the ranks. Joe eventually went on to win the ROH Title and go on to hold it for nearly two years!!!! A record that still stands today. Samoa Joe eventually lost the belt and went on to challenge future champions including Brian Danielson [In one match these guys went on for 68 minutes!!!!].

By early 2005 Joe was looking for a change and he found it in TNA. Joe with the help of AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, had the best match in TNA history. At unbreakable the three stole the show in a match that people still talk about today. Joe would go on to win the TNA X- Division title 3 times beating the likes of Jay Lethal, Senshi, Aj Styes, and Chriistopher Daniels. Samoa Joe would eventually turn his attention to the TNA world title, but was interrupted by the arrival of Kurt Angle. At Genesis Kurt Angle beat Samoa Joe, thus ending Joes nearly two year undefeated streak in TNA. Joe would continue to do battle with Kurt Angle trough the winter and into the spring of the next year. Samoa Joe stayed in the title hunt for the reminder of the year and ended up holding the TNA X division title, and the TNA Tag Team Tiles after wining the match of Champions at Victory Road. He would then challenge Kurt Angle to put up the world title, in a winner takes all match. Samoa Joe lost and ended up losing all the titles. In the winter of 2007 Joe would end up forming an alliance with "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash. Nash would become something of Joe's mentor trough the next year or so. In the following months Joe ran around destroying people demanding title matches. Joe finally got his match at Lock Down against Kurt Angle. After a hell of a match and a muscle butser to Kurt Angle, April 13 became the best day in Samoa Joe's life. Now the TNA World Champion Joe has  contenders coming form everywhere. Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Booker T, Nash, Sting, everybody wants a piece of Joe.

In closing Joe will be remember as the first TNA star that made it to the same level as the likes of Kurt Angle, Sting, and Booker T. He will forever be the face of TNA. Why? He one of the most talented stars TNA has. He fast, strong, and very precise. TNA has done the smart thing and booked him as their top guy. I see only bright things in Smoas Joes future, if TNA keeps him on top.
