Apologizes To Jimmy Kennedy
On the first round of the 2003 draft, the Vikings passed on highly rated prospect Jimmy Kennedy and took Kevin Williams. If Minnesota would have waited any longer we might have had Jimmy Kennedy instead. Kevin Williams quickly became the most dominate player on the Minnesota defense, and became the second coming of Alan Page. (here's hoping) Jimmy Kennedy was drafted by the Rams and became a up and down career.
Now, the reason I am apologizing is because I like many people had written him off as a bust. It took him till 2005 to earn a starting spot. He never really lived up to the expectations and his best statistical season was in 2005 when he had 33 tackles and 3 sacks. He was eventually traded to Denver, then signed by Chicago, then Jacksonville, and finally the beloved Vikings.

Vikings Rook's Custom Chain š¦
In 2008, the Vikings signed him as a stop gap measure because of the impending suspension of the Williams' Wall. Since that moment, he has been on the rise. This season playing a reserve role behind Pat Williams, he has amassed three sacks and 18 tackles. This might not seem like a great or even average season, but if you consider the fact he only came in on third down and switching series with Fred Evans his numbers look alot more impressive.Ā
The reason I apologize now is because I just watched the Vikings-Cowboys game. A game which Mr. Kennedy had constant pressure on Romo when he was in the game. Plus he was beating his blocks and making plays in the backfield.
As an act of Kindness and a reward for your elevated level of play, I am now throwing my hat in the ring for Minnesota to pass on drafting a DT in the first round. Thank You Jimmy Kennedy, Hopefully you can become what you were intent on being coming out of the 2003 draft. See you at the Superbowl
