āThe tests came back to us last Monday and itās no surprise to us that theyāre negative,ā said Pacquiao's adviser, Mike Koncz.
It was reported that when Manny Pacquiao was in the press conference and he heard his results, he was not shocked at all. Koncz said that āhe always knew he was clean and that thereās nothing to react to.ā
The recommended urinalysis was conducted by the NSAC because it was said to be apart of the commissions requirements for boxers' annual license.
But Koncz believed it had something to do with Floyd Mayweather's allegations and blood test fiasco.
Pacquiao was originally scheduled to fight Mayweather on March 13. A bout that is now cancelled, with Mayweather being replaced by welterweight Joshua Clottey.
āThis is the last time we will comment on these results. Whatās important with the results being made public is for us to clear Mannyās name after being tarnished by Mayweather and the De la Hoya people,ā said Koncz.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao agreed on nearly every aspect of their potential bout, except on the blood testing. It seems like they are about 10 days apart; where Manny Pacquiao doesn't want to draw blood 24 days before, while Mayweather wants the cut-off date to be 14 days apart.
There has been so much speculation about Pacquiao's decision to walk away from such a lucrative bout over 10 days. Pacquiao has been said to be afraid of needles. He has numerous tattoos, so that couldn't have been the case. He said psychologically the loss of blood gets to him.
I don't know about that one. A lot of his excuses have been a little off. He's lost a ton of blood in the ring already. 14 days before the fight shouldn't do too much harm, right?
But I agree that he shouldn't abide by team Mayweather's rules if he doesn't have to. But he really wants Mayweather, and if he is really clean, 10 more days shouldn't hurt the biggest fight of your career and maybe the biggest fight ever for the sport you love the most.
