NBA Top Ten Rankings

Parker ForteJan 16, 2010

I'm not an expert, but I sure hope to be one day. I decided I would throw together an NBA top ten.

Parker's Top 10

10. San Antonio Spurs

Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Michael Finley, and Tony Parker. Need I say more? Duncan is averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Tony Parker is is averaging about 10 assists a game.

San Antonio will find ways to win and if they don't, that is sad. This is why I have the Spurs at No. 10.

9. Dallas Mavericks

Dallas has a great bench with Jason Terry, Jose Barea, and Drew Gooden. I wont lie, that bench can scare a starter.

But Dallas also has Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk has an amazing talent to make a shot whenever he wants. I don't understand how he does it.

He averages 25 points withĀ seven defensive rebounds a game. That is why I have Dallas at No. 9.

8. Phoenix Suns

The Suns came out of nowhere this year. After Shaq left, I did not think they could compete with such a small line up. But, they have done a great job of proving me wrong.

Amare Stoudemire is averaging about 21 points a game while Steve Nash is the distributor with 11 assists a game. But, Phoenix can't hold a large lead, that is why they are ranked no higher than 8th.

7. Orlando Magic

Superman carries the Magic with about 17 points a game and 13 rebounds. Vince Carter also adds about 17 points with three assists.

When Hedo Turkoglu left, I was not so sure about Orlando. But they showed up and their newest addition, Vince Carter, still has what it takes to be an impact player.

Orlando can dominate when they are on top of things. That is why they are seventh on my list.

6. Portland Trail Blazers

Why Portland at No. 6 with all their injuries? Well, simply this, Portland proved they can win no matter what, even without all-star Brandon Roy. The Blazers find the heart to win for their injured team mates.

Roy leads the team with about 23 points a game and five assists while LaMarcus Aldridge leads Portland with about eight rebounds a game. This is why Portland is sixth.

5. Boston Celtics

I have the Celtics at fifth because they have been having problems lately. But they still manage a good record and can win games.

Paul Pierce leads Boston with 18 points while Rondo is distributing about 10 assists a game. Perkins pulls in 8 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. Boston has talent and potential; they are fifth in my book.

4. Atlanta Hawks

I have the Hawks at the No. 4 spot because they can consistently win games and show teams up. Joe Johnson is averageing 21 points a game and four assists.

Al Horford pulls in 10 assists a game. Jamal Crawford contributes to the team with his sweet shot. Atlanta deserves the No. 4 spot.

3. Denver Nuggets

Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin, Chris Anderson, Ty Lawson, Chauncey Billups, and J.R Smith. What else is there to say? The Nuggets roster is deep and they will be in the hunt for the championship trophy.

Carmelo is getting about 30 points a game, Kenyon Martin is bringing in nine rebounds while Ty Lawson is getting four assists. Denver is deep and they will be the team to beat soon. They are at No. 3.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

Kobe, Gasol, Fisher, Bynum, Odom and Artest. That is a lot of talent for one team. The Lakers are always a top team and it is not any different this year.

Kobe is getting 29 points and about five assists a game. Odom is getting 10 rebounds while Gasol is pulling in 11. The Lakers deserve the No. 2 spot. Just try and take it from them.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James and Shaq on the same team? Is this a dream? No, this is reality. King James is putting up 30 points a game and Anderson Varejao is getting eight rebounds. Mo Williams and Delonte West also add to the team's success. There is not much more I can really say... Cleveland is No. 1 without question.

IĀ will put together another top ten after the All-Star break.

Enjoy and comment.
