Tonight's game will showcase to teams who have very many weapons on offense. The Magic with Howard, Lewis, Reddick, etc. And the Blazers with many young yet talented players, B-Roy, Aldridge, Bayless, etc.
But tonights game will come down to the productivity of one man. Dwight Howard. Lately he has had a couple of bad games but tonight he will need to step and if he wants to lead his team to a W. The Magic are somewhat short handed without starting shooting guard Vince Carter.
This season Dwight Howard's numbers are down from 2008-09. He is averaging one less rebound, four less points, and a half a block less. That may not seem like much but it seems teams are starting to learn how to guard with his limited game which mainly consists of dunks or baby jump hooks.
The Magic are still one of the top teams in the NBA but if they really want to be a threat to anyone in the playoffs then they will definately need their franchise player to step and be the monster that everyone knows he can.
As for the Trailblazers, everyone expects Brandon Roy to steal the show from his teammates and be the best player for them on the floor. But this year that may not be the case.
LaMarcus Aldridge a former number one pick has really stepped up this year. He has learned that in order to be a dominating threat in the paint he needs to be strong. So he called his strength coach and they started to work on his shoulders and back so he would be able to hang with the other big boys around the rim. He works out on days that they don't have games.
Tonight we will see a great game between two teams who look to take the next step in their own regards. Should be a fun one to watch.
