Rip Van Capers

During the 2008 regular season, the Green Bay Packers’ offense began to flourish under then-first year starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but the defense was a train wreck finishing a not-so-robust 20th in the NFL in total yards surrendered.

In the off-season, head coach and full figured underwear model Mike McCarthy went defensive coordinator shopping and brought in comb-over magnate Dom Capers to right the ship.

And it worked. Capers worked his magic, guiding Green Bay’s defense to finish second in total yards in the league.

So when we watched the first round scoring clinic between the Arizona Cardinals and the Packers – the highest scoring game in NFL playoff history — you had to wonder: WTF?
