Lane Kiffin Makes Al Davis Look Like A Genius!

I'm not one to fault to a guy for pursuing his dream job in the land of college football, but the manner in which Lane Kiffin left the Volunteers was cowardly. Why anyone would want this puppet master as their head coach is beyond me. Lane, you are welcome to look like a giant jackass all you want, but you made your defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator look like snakes too. Oh, by the way, the defensive coordinator just so happens to be your father. 

I'm sorry Monte, but maybe you should have taught your kid to stand by his commitments and not be full of B.S. He must be one helluva salesman. I can see Al Davis believing what he was told, he's old as dirt and reminds me of Mr. Burns. But, Tennessee athletic director, Mike Hamilton has no excuse. He should have asked his previous employer why he fired Kiffin in the first place. Oh wait, he did not have to, Al Davis had already got on his soapbox and told everyone what an upstanding character Kiffin had been in his time at Oakland. Mr. Hamilton got duped too, just like Al Davis, all his Tennessee recruits, Tennessee players, and Tennessee fans. 

Kiffin told high school kids he was going to be their coach. His staff told them that. Maybe they have to learn how the world works, but in the world I live in, I have to give a two week notice and can not slither away in the middle of the night. Tennessee has a right to be pissed. They hired a guy to turn their program into a powerhouse again, and made a significant investment. They did not realize he was going to take the money and look like D.B. Cooper. The good thing is Kiffin did not disappear with the money. We know where to find him. 

I am not a Tennessee or SEC fan, but if Kiffin wanted a challenge and be part of the best, he should have stayed and proved himself. Right there beside Nick Saban and Urban Meyer- men of character. I hope in the fraternity of college football coaches Lane Kiffin gets his ass handed to him the next time he faces an SEC team. Future recruits, he'll leave you in the dust if "something better"
