As we all know, Jake Delhomme of the once dominant Carolina Panthers didn't exactly have a career year. Jake finished 31st in the league of all starting quarterbacks for a league ranking and was outplayed by his "backup" Matt Moore.

I think the most astounding thing that Moore did to help his potential case for starting quarterback is that in 138 attempts, he completed 85 passes for over 1000 yards. Also in his limited play, he threw as many touchdowns as Delhomme did in his starting role.
The Panthers brought Matt Moore in because they knew Delhomme was getting old and was going to need to be replaced soon. After the 2009-2010 season, it appears that he may be done a little quicker than he wanted to be. Now I know that part of one season isn't enough to say that Moore is better than Delhomme, but his playing time this season appears to be a small taste of greatness to come.
Watch out Jake, you may be riding the pine horse at the start of next year or possibly wearing a different colored uniform.
