Mark McGwire Is a Shame To Baseball

Mark McGwire is a spineless cheater. Years after denying that he ever took steroids he has come clean and admitted he has used this drug to enhance his baseball abilities. He most likely had used them early in his career perhaps as back as in high school. It should not come to be as much of a surprise in this country that there are so many cheaters in sports. The pay for people to play sports is a total disgrace and is primarily the reason many athletes become athletes. They will go for all to be on a better level than the next, not because they love the sport, but for the love of the financial rewards this society gives the big time player. They are paid millions for a game they once played for free as a kid.

We see in society parents becoming more bizarre trying to get little Johnny a leg up on the neighbors kid. Pro athletes are a real shame. Their main motivation is financial rewards that advertising pay s and this makes them do anything to be a huge success. If Mark McGwire wasn't hitting all those home runs with the help of steroids , he would not have had that got milk advertising gig. It's too bad that only drinking milk could not have made him that feared slugger he was while he played. We should of not been fooled by his success and Sammy Sosa's during that home run chase to break a great mans title who never took steroids for help back in 1961. America and the sports world was different back then. Perhaps had Roger Maris had access to steroids he may have made a run at Babe Ruth's career home run title instead of just breaking his single season record. Too me the Babe and Roger still hold those impressive baseball titles and Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire should have their cheating names erased from all mention of baseball records.
