Tennessee Vols in Need of Jon Gruden?

Talk about shock up on Rocky Top.

The University of Tennessee and its nation of Volunteers have been given the bum's rush by Lane Kiffin, and the timing couldn't have been worse.

Kiffin, who made his play last year to become the most hated man in the SEC, is now, no doubt, the most hated man in the state of Tennessee.

Kiffin has fled for the warmth of L.A. and the USC Trojans and leaves a gaping vacancy for one of the nation's premier coaching jobs.

The Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have a nominee to replace Kiffin:

Jon Gruden. Chucky. Mr. ESPN.

His wife was once a cheerleader up on Rocky Top. He owns property there and has cast his beady little eyes toward Knoxville more than once.

He's available.

Has spent numerous hours in Tampa picking the brains of college coaches after he departed the Buccaneers.

He could provide the immediate splash, he could get this thing under control in a hurry for the Vols.

With February 3rd's national signing day rapidly closing in, you can imagine the recruiters from the other SEC schools who are eagerly pouncing on the Tennessee recruits. All's fair in love, war, and the recruiting game.

What would Gruden's first standing order be?

Gruden, famous for dropping numerous random f-bombs might shout out:

"Let's get those f-ing recruits back in line!"
