Michigan Tuesday: Coaching Rumor Mill

Big House BobJan 12, 2010

Footballcoachscoop.com is reporting that former Marshall head coach Mark Snyder interviewed with Rich Rodriguez on Sunday for the open linebackers coach post at Michigan.

Snyder is a former defensive coordinator for Jim Tressel at Ohio State and Youngstown State. He was also a DC at Minnesota. It would make sense, since Snyder and Rodriguez probably know each other from being in West Virgina at the same time.

Snyder would bring strong recruiting ties from Ohio and having defensive coordinator skills would also be a plus. He worked for "the Vest" which may rub some Michigan fans the wrong way. More to come on this story as this is the first reported interview for this position.

The rumor mill is also saying that Skip Holtz maybe named the South Florida head coach over Michigan's offensive coordinator Calvin Magee.

Central Michigan's new head coach is going to be Dan Enos, running backs coach from Michigan State. Enos was a former QB at MSU and has been known as a strong state of Michigan recruiter. An interesting pick for the Chippewas.
