Good for You, Mark McGwire
I just want to put this one out there: I love Mark McGwire.
I didn't have a lot of faith in baseball after the strike of 1994. Then again, I wasn't the only one.
But Mark McGwire changed all that.
The battle between McGwire and Sammy Sosa got the mouths moving, the crowds back to the ballpark, and everyone talking.
And you know what, McGwire did something almost as big on Jan. 11: He admitted to doing steroids.
McGwire said in a phone interview: "I'm sure people will wonder if I could have hit all those home runs had I never taken steroids. I had good years when I didn't take any, and I had bad years when I didn't take any. I had good years when I took steroids, and I had bad years when I took steroids. But no matter what, I shouldn't have done it and for that I'm truly sorry."

2020 MLB Re-Draft โฎ๏ธ
It wasn't exactly stunning news, but it was a start.
After all, it takes a big man to admit to his mistakes. Excuse us while we stand up and applaud you, Mark, for actually apologizing. You've made us all very happy, and may even have gotten some fans back after you lost a ton at the senatorial meeting in 2005.
Now, we can move on.
This leaves two people out there to get apologies from: Sammy "I don't speak English, especially in front of Senators" Sosa and Barry "I'm quiet, and I'm still a free agent" Bonds. Oh, and Greg Vaughn would be nice too.
Just one thing, Mark: We only wish it could have been a little sooner than 11 years after the event.
