White Sox: Best Pitching Staff In Baseball?
Will the White Sox have the best starting pitching staff in baseball in the 2010 season? Well I think so. Look at this starting rotation:
1. Jake Peavy- The 2007 Cy Young award winner should be even better than ever in the AL. All he has to do is focus on pitching instead of both pitching and hitting. Peavy will start this season having a career 3.26 ERA, and striking out an amazing 6.35 batters per game. He could be a Cy Young winner again.
2. Mark Buehrle- Mark has already thrown a no hitter AND a perfect game in his career. He will start this season with a career ERA of 3.80 and averaging 132 strikeouts per year. Also Mark is averaging around 15 wins per season.

3. Gavin Floyd- He showed dominance in 2008, however dropped off a bit in 2009. Still had double digit wins in 2009, and should be back to form in 2010. Gavin has an ERA of 3.95 as a starter in Chicago, and has struck out 308 batters in his 2 seasons with Chicago.
4. John Danks- Been amazing in his 3 years in the league. Has a career ERA of 4.06, which is a bit inflated due to a 5.50 ERA his rookie year. John has 417 career strikeouts in 534.1 innings pitched. Last season, Danks posted an ERA of 3.77.
5. Freddy Garcia- The 10 year vet is back with the Sox and should be pretty darn good. In his 10 year career, Garcia has posted a 4.08 ERA, and his career record is 121-81 for a crazy .669 winning percentage. Garcia also has posted 1301 strikeouts in his career, just showing he can make you swing and miss.
6. Bobby Jenks- This closer may have the fastest fastball I have seen from a relief pitcher. I have seen games that the radar shows 102 MPH fastball, and he isn't afraid to use it. Bobby saved 29 games last year, and has logged 146 total saves in just 5 years. In that 5 years, Jenks has also struck out 273 batters, and was one of the stars in the 2005 World Series.
The White Sox will be one of the deadliest teams in the American League this season with the All Star pitching rotation, not to mention the weapons they have added on offense and in the field. They could have 2-3 18-20 game winners, as well as a possibility for a couple of 14-16 game winners as well. Jenks should also have around 35 saves this season. Scoring runs and holding opposing teams to little runs should come with ease this season.
