Game 39: Blazers vs. Cavaliers—6:00pm ESPN

Point guard play will be a big part of this game tonight. Mo Williams always seems to play well against Portland. His quickness and shooting threat from deep is deadly for our inconsistent perimeter defense.

Andre Miller has been great lately, and I think he'll get up again for this game. I think he might be a difference maker, but the odds based on the past are against Portland. I'm going with Cleveland.

Coming off a nearly perfect performance against the Lakers, Brandon Roy gets a chance to show his stuff on national TV against the Cavaliers. Roy always plays well on the big stage and this will be no different.

Anthony Parker's job is to slow down Brandon, but if Kobe can't do it, I don't see how Parker can. Delonte West will also be matched up with Jerryd Bayless at times, that should be fun to watch and may be critical in the outcome of this game.

Obviously LeBron James is the premiere small forward in the league. With his talent, size, and officials favoritism, he's virtually un-guardable. Martell will give it a good effort, hopefully forcing jumpers from James.

The one interesting caveat of this match-up will be Martell on offense. James will be preoccupied defensively trying to help on Roy and in the paint, so if Webster can continue his hot shooting, he may end up having a nice game and helping Portland win.

LaMarcus didn't have the big game I expected against the Lakers, but I'm confident he pushed it back to tonight. This time, Portland really does need big output from Aldridge in order to beat Cleveland.

JJ Hickson and Vareflop are solid compliments to James, but normally not big contributors. However, in Cleveland earlier this year, Sideshow Anderson dropped an astonishing 22 points and 10 rebounds on Portland. That cannot happen again. LA wins it.

Shaq has been quietly consistent for the Cavs and he is obviously fitting in a lot better than he did in Phoenix. He's going to give Juwan Howard and Jeff Pendergraph fits on the interior if Cleveland commits to going into the post.

Big Z is the still the real man at center, so he'll play a lot. Both centers are huge, crafty, and tough to defend when Portland lacks size. This might be the straw that breaks the camels back.
