NFC East Showdown Number Three

The Dallas Cowboys were able to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles twice this year thus far.  It has always been said that it is extremely difficult to do that; let alone a third victory.  This game will be determined by the Cowboys sticking with the running game and Romo protecting the ball.

The Eagles offense is one of the most explosive in the entire league.  Which makes the performance by the Dallas defense all the more impressive last week.  The Eagles will take their shots to Desean Jackson, and they should because he has the chance to score every time he touches the ball.  The key for the Eagles is going to be short passes for ball control and taking chances deep at the right times. 

The Dallas defense is good against the run and the pass.  Their secondary is the most vulnerable part of their offense.  It seems that Gerald Sensabaugh is always around the ball, however, he is extremely aggressive and could be exploited.  Jay Ratliff is a man playing against boys out there.  He knows the snap count better then the opposing center at times, and for my money is the best defensive tackle in the game.  Dallas will have to keep the big plays to a minimum in order to accomplish a three peat.

This game will come down to Tony Romo and the Dallas running attack.  I do not foresee McNabb turning the ball over, but Romo can have the tendency to do so.  He must be smart with the ball, and Jason Garrett must continue to run the ball to keep the ball away from the Eagles offense.  In the passing game, I would run double moves on Asante Samuel, who is the most overrated cornerback in the league, all game long.  Samuel can make some great plays, but he is so aggressive that it does not always work. 

Expect the Cowboys to eek out a good game over the Iggles.  Romo will finally come up big, and Dallas will get that elusive playoff win.  It just seems to me that the Cowboys are the more complete team as long as their kicking game does not let them down.  The Eagles defense is highly overrated.  The only two players who consistently impress me are Trent Cole and Sheldon Brown.  This is why Cowboys win 20 - 14.
