Let the Griping Begin!

To my fellow Alabama fans, prepare yourselves. Reason? Because here comes the griping.

It is not enough that you defeated the Longhorns 37-21. It is not enough that you (for the most part) tore the Texas offense to shreds. No, it is not even enough that you had twin 100 yard rushers. 

Why? 

Because Colt McCoy got hurt. 

Now the rational being knows going into a game that there is some chance of an individual getting hurt. For that very reason you have second string players. These are the "oopsie!" players. And should you loose, well you have a scapegoat. 

I am not buying the hype that the game would have changed drastically had McCoy been and Gilbert benched. 

While yes, It would have had some degree of impact, game changing? 

I say nay nay.

Mack Brown should have had Gilbert ready to step in. Had he done his job and had him prepared the outcome may have been more favorable to Texas's advantage. 

However, he did not. 

Please do not misunderstand me. Mack Brown is an amazing coach. Colt McCoy is a tremendous player. And Gilbert did a great job. 

However, in the end it was not enough to deny the Crimson Tide a very deserved win. 

In Tuscaloosa, the joint is jumping and the celebrating is just getting started. Despite the cold weather there is no denying the atmosphere is as lively as it could possibly be. 

So for now Bama fans enjoy your win. Soon enough you too will get to hear the incessant griping and nay-saying of the Hook 'Em nation.
