Do's and Don't's: A Monday Night War Edition
"Monday Night War." That is the term used by some to describe the TNA/WWE ratings battle. Some think that TNA and the WWE had their good and bad moments, while others think it wasn't a war at all.
Regardless of opinions, it is obvious that Monday's shows were a definite sign of things to come, no matter the ratings. There are already rumors of TNA moving full-time to Mondays due to the ratings. And in my opinion, competition is good for the business, as it helps every company be better.
However, not everything TNA and the WWE do will help them in this war. There are things that are definite no-no's on both programs.

Offseason Moves for Every Team š
There are do's and don'ts when attempting to win the so called "Monday Night Wars," and here are a few that I think the WWE and/or TNA should take into consideration when planning for the future.
Do's
Do sign new stars Ā
Everyone wants to see something new. Whether it's someoneĀ known to fans like Jeff Hardy or someone that no one knows like Sheamus, it is necessary to provide your fans with characters andĀ matchupsĀ they have never seen before.
Now, this is not to say that you should go and sign everyone you can (see don't's). But new stars are a big part of gaining fans and big ratings.
Do create great storylinesĀ
This is another thing that every fan wants to see. No one cares how Hornswoggle fits with DX. It is just ridiculous.
Fans want intense, personal, and downright violent feuds (See Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho for example).
A good storyline matters just as much, if not more, than a good match. This is an area that both companies can improve on.
Do look the part
This is an area that we see little problems with on RAW, but a lot of problems on Impact. On Monday, TNA just seemed unorganized and unprofessional. It's unacceptable.
If a company is big enough to be live on Monday nights, make it look as such. The show should run smoothly from beginning to end. This is probably the biggest Do.
Don'ts
Don't focus on older starsĀ
No one wants to see something they already saw. While Hogan and Bret are big stars, they should not be the focal points of the shows.
Show viewers that they are there and that they matter, but that's all. They have had their time with the wrestling community. It is time for something new and improved.
Don't show off Divas/KnockoutsĀ
By this I mean that these women should wrestle. Period. This is a wrestling show, not a strip club. These women are under contract to wrestle. If they can't wrestle, then they deserve no spot on the rosters.
People who actually want to see the women want to see them wrestle. It is the biggest mistake made by WWE, and it's something TNA does exceptionally well.
Don't mistreat or tease the fansĀ
This is huge. The fans are the base and soul of the product. They should be treated as such. Fans should be given the matches advertised and not teased with matches that they will never see.
Also, the big stars should always perform. Truth is, fans don't go to shows to see Sheamus. They go to see big stars, and they should see them. This is my biggest complaint with TNA/WWE.
Well, there you have it, the do's and don'ts of the Monday Night War. These are things that I believe if are done well, can bring big success to TNA or the WWE. So, what is your opinion of my list? This is my first article and I would love to hear feedback and comments.
