McPowerTrip Has To Go?
Let me start off by saying that I am not an expert of any kind. I am not a journalist or a football analyst. I am just a die-hard Bronco fan that bleeds blue and orange. My Sundays are spent yelling at my TV or at my laptop when the games aren't televised. When my Broncos lose, I spend the rest of my Sunday sulking in my room wondering what went wrong and how we are going to change. I have spent the majority of the football season divulging into every detail of the Broncos. I have recently read many articles on people's attitudes towards McD. I am just another fan that felt I should throw my say into the lot.
With that being said, I know that there are many fellow fans that were crushed when our beloved Broncos couldn't beat a Kansas City Chief team that we smashed 44-13 in week 13. I believed that despite our end of the season collapse, that our Broncos were going to beat the Chiefs on Sunday. I knew that I was going to watch as the Bengals beat the Jets which would have allowed us to compete in the playoffs. I just knew that we were going to do it.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It is safe to say that I knew absolutely nothing.
I had to swallow the horrible pill that the Broncos had collapsed yet again and that we weren't going to the playoffs. I had to accept the fact that I had to wait a whole year to watch my boys compete on the field again. It was a tougher pill to swallow then swallowing a giant blue Tylenol PM pill, and THAT is a tough pill to swallow. As soon as the season ended for us, I started reading articles that McD should be named McArrogant or McPowerTrip. I read that he should be fired and that Bowlen should find a proven winner. My response?
Are you kidding me?
You want to fire the man that took a projected 6-10 team at BEST and made them a playoff relevant team. You want to fire the man that at one point had our beloved Broncos in the top 5 power rankings. You want to fire that man?
I know that we are all upset but come on. Lets not let our disappointment control our actions. Was McD perfect? No, absolutely not. He made his mistakes just like any coach does. He has had his fair share of problems. But Josh McD should not be fired. He should not be in the conversation of being fired. It is ludicrous to put the Broncos collapse solely on Josh McD. Let us not forget that he came into the Bronco organization on January 11th of last year. The rosters were not finalized until September 5. The first game was September 13 at Cincinatti. A game we will long remember as the miraculous tipped ball that fell into the arms of a waiting Brandon Stokley. He came in trying to install a whole new philosophy, a whole new offense and a whole new defensive scheme. Despite all of that, we won 6 in a row. At that time, there was nobody saying he should be fired. Instead, people were saying he should be the Coach of the Year. People were calling him McGenius. Fast forward 10 games and a 2-8 finish and now people are calling for his head. You really think he should be named with the likes of Jim Zorn, Tom Cable, and Dick Jauron of those who may lose their jobs. Would you rather have our coach be Todd Haley who in his first year of coaching led the Chiefs to a 4-12 record?
It is so easy to be loyal when McD leads us to an overtime victory against the Patriots. It is so easy to be faithful when he is pumping his fists in victory near the sidelines with us fans. Now that we endured yet another disappointing ending to our season, we need to remain loyal in the collapse.
Don't get me wrong, Starting 6-0 and finishing 2-8 is not acceptable. It is something that needs to be looked at to make sure it doesn't happen again. The defense couldn't tackle, the offense couldn't get going, and the o-line was pushed around late in the year. These are all areas that need to be fixed. But for a first year coach, he has done a pretty darn good job. He is the first coach to lead a team to an overtime victory against Brady and the Patriots. Josh McD is a winner. He hates losing more then anything. You can see it in his eyes after a loss. You can hear it in his voice as he answers the reporters. He hates to lose. With a full off-season of preparation for the draft and adequate time to analyze every player on our roster, you can be sure that he is going to do everything in his power to win. McD brought a lot of excitement to the Bronco organization. He led us to improbable victory after victory. He gave us all a reason to believe. Lets get off his back and have faith that next year he will lead our team to the postseason and who knows, maybe a Super Bowl.
