Vikings Trounce The Giants: Get First Round Bye!
Well, the regular season for Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings came to an end today with a resounding 44-7 win over the hapless New York Giants (8-8)...The Vikings finished 12-4 and will be the second seed in the NFC play-offs (with the Eagles loss in Dallas)- GettingĀ the week off will be a big help, I am sure for some very soreĀ veterans
Brett Favre threw for 4 more touchdowns, to bring his season total to 33... He also set a record by doing so, having only 7 interceptions this season combined with throwing over 30 td's. Tom Brady held the record for 2 yrs with 8 in 2007, when he had 50 touchdowns.

Sure there were a lot of questions and shaking heads when Brett signed with the Vikes. Everyone had an opinion. Plus,Ā coming to camp late, it looked liked he was going to be the same old Brett that we saw, late last season with the Jets. He came to the Vikings this season and has had his BEST season ever ! His 33 td's and 7 interceptionsĀ were not only an NFL bestĀ ever - but it is his best ratioĀ of his 19 year career.
Now, with the NFC playoffs set - Wild Card games have Dallas hosting the Eagles and The Packers will visit Arizona...Hmm, what were the odds of all 4 of those teams, playing 2 weeks in a row..? In the very sameĀ cities, too..?
The Vikings will get their bye week...and their first play-off game will be at home ...So, all signs look good for a re-match in New Orleans...If the Saints don't get knocked off first, after losing 3 in-a-row, on the road to Miami - But, can you imagine if Brett Favre can host the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers ?? There might be a few story lines there -
Don't count out the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. They looked goodĀ in Arizona today, after hanging a 33-7 loss on the Cards! The Pack finished 11-5, only 1 game behind Minnesota... Wow! The NFL would love a Vikings/Packers match-up for the right to play in the Super Bowl.Ā
Until then, we have a round robin of great NFL play-off games to look forward to - IĀ am pickingĀ the Vikings and the Colts to play in Miami in Feb,... How about you ?
It should be a great Play-off season...
