Toronto Maple Leafs Report Card

People often ask me what I think about our Leafs this year, so I thaught that this would be the best way to express my self.

Tomas Kaberle - B+ - Yes, Tomas has been great, he has the most points, with 35 (January third), he is also a great leader, but he is not stable. We never know what we will get from him and when.

Matt Stajan - A- - Matt has been amazing. It`s been a roller coaster for him but he is there and I`m proud of what he has been doing for us so far.

Alexei Ponikarovsky - A - Poni is also doing great. I was scared that since we seperated the Kazonskies ( Antropov and Ponikarovsky) that Poni wouldn`t do as well. I was wrong.

Niklas Hagman - B+ - It`s hard not to give a good grade to Niklas, he is good and plays good hockey that people want to watch... great job Niklas!

Jason Blake - A - If I didn`t know he has cancer, I wouldn` t have known! We all know that he can do better, and I`m sure he knows that too! He is always there and knows what he has to do and does it! I`m proud of the way he`s been playing.

Mikhail Grabovski - B - He is in the top 5 point leaders but I think it is mostly because he is at the right place at the right time. I can`t give him less then a B because of the stats and because of certain plays his been making lately. Hang in there Mikhail!

Phil Kessel - A- - Phil came in late into the season because of an injury.  He helped the leafs a lot! I would have gave him and A or even an A+ but because of how he`s been playing lately, it was hard to give it to him. He is still on my top 5 list.

Lee Stempniak - B+ - He hasn`t played well enough to stand out but I have nothing bad to say about him. Lee great job, I know you can do more!

Ian White - A - Ian has been great! He`s has ups and downs but it`s hockey! He is doing well enough!

Francois Beauchemin - B+ - I might of expected much more of him, it could have affected my jugement, but I have nothing againts him and have nothing bad to say about him.

Nikolai Kulimen - B - He hasn`t been bad but he hasn`t been great. Coach Wilson didn`t give him enough ice time at the start of the season but put him on the ice when trailing by one with a minute or two left to the game. He has been given chances but not at the right moment. I`m not proud of the way Coach Wilson has been dealing with him. also be dealing with stressHe might  and fatigue do to the birth of his first child.

John Mitchell - B - He didn`t have the chance to play many games because of injuries. So far, he has been playing alright but i`m not satisfied, I know by past experiences he can do a lot better, I know he has it in him.

Jeff Finger - B - He is also one of the many guys who has not played many games, but from what I`ve seen he has been doing well enough but nothing outstanding. I feel like he has not been giving his 100%. It could be caused by a personal problem.

Wayne Primeau - B- - For a center, his stats aren`t the best, so far. What we`ve seen so far from him is what we expect from a junior or an American league player. He can do better if he is given the chance.

Luke Schenn - A- - For a young rookie, He great! He is a great addition to our team. His strenght and size is what the Leafs needed! Great job Luke!

Carl Gunnarsson - B- - I`m not satisfied by the way he played. Injuries didn`t help. Maybe Toronto isn`t the place for him.

Jamal Mayers - B -   He hasn`t been awful but he hasn`t been great. We really do appreciate what he does bring to the table. Don`t give up Jamal, give us your 100%.

Mike Komisarek - B+ - He makes good plays but not great ones. I feel like he is only giving his 80-90%. We know what he can do for this team, he`s done it a couple times but we just don`t know when. Don`t give up we believe in you!

Viktor Stalberg - B- - He is not outstanding and not that great. He doesn`t have much chemestry with the guys yet, it is a big factor. We just have to give him time.

Garnett Exelby - B - Not great but not bad! I expect more from him and I hope to see more ice time for him. He deserves it!

Richard Wallin - B - He is on the same boat as Viktor and Garnett! He is not giving us his 100% but we can see he tries!  

Vesa Toskala - 2+/3- - He isn`t stable. It seems like a Andrew Raycroft deja vu. There is no confidence at all. The way Coach Wilson makes his goaltending choices is awful. The goaltenders aren`t treated well enough.

Jonas Gustavsson - 3+ - Same comments as Vesa. It`s the Coaching! That`s all I have to say.

My jugement is based on how they are playing not based on what they can do.
