Silly Season: Pro Wrestling 1/3/010
In almost every sport that involves contracts, Silly Season is the time that the big moves are made to try and solidify a team's position or to begin building for the upcoming year. But Pro Wrestling has no true "off-season", rather it's a never-ending train of new episodes with plot-twists that always leaves the viewer hanging on for next week.
By that definition, there really is no true Silly Season involved. But a lot of big moves have recently become open due to whatever reason, so a look at what could happen backstage is warranted. Here Goes:
Jeff Hardy - Status: OUT OF THE PICTURE

Cavs' 'New Rules' for Fans at Game 3
Lot of people are pinging him to show up tomorrow night on TNA in the Monday Night Skirmish, but there are a lot of problems with this move. One, he still has an active case going on back in NC, and he doesn't need to give officials there any ammunition to use against him (namely, going on the run). Two, even if he receives permission to go, he is hardly in a condition to fly-- much less wrestle as a few hope he does. One herniated disc in the back is extremely painful, and he has SIX of those. Fairly confident he is not leaving the house for a while.
Edge - Status: STAYING IN WWE, BUT...
Personally I feel he's a bit iffy on staying around after healing up from his Torn ACL, at this point there are a lot of rising stars trying to fight their way out of poor storylines to run with the Main Event stars; and his spot is up for grabs at the moment. He needs to take a page out of Batista's playbook and devise a new Finisher move, it'll give everybody involved a bit more material to work with and they all come out as winners. Now this is where the "but" comes in, if he doesn't come back by WM26, he seriously risks getting the boot from upper-management. And if he comes back too early and gets hurt again, same result.
Samoa Joe - Status: GOING TO WWE BY 2011
This is a pick I'm making based on pure intuition, a lot of older WCW/ECW guys are about to run amok in TNA and it looks like they're going to suck the air out of the Impact Zone. If thats the case then the guys who have only done national TV/PPV Main-Events in TNA could be looking to get off the now overloaded bus before it heads on up Crazy Mountain Road; Joe seems most likely as he has some excellent talent and he's not being used well. He also has a way in via CM Punk, with whom he has had some epic matches with over the years (several of which are 60-minute enduros, a big plus if the card has to be stacked thin for whatever reason).
Thats a few picks for this time, until we meet again.
