Hot Stove New YorkJan 3, 2010

1. The Grizzles are .500 The Grizzles are one of the hottest teams in the Western Conference. After starting the season 1-8 they have gone 15-8 and are 1.5 games out of the eighth seed. Zach Randolph is leading the NBA in offensive rebounds, O.J Mayo, Rudy Gay, and Randolph are each averaging more than 18 points. Marc Gasol is averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds, and is shooting 62 percent (second in the NBA) from the field. Mike Conley has improved his play over the past couple of games making the starting five one of the best fantasy units in the league.

2. Omri Casspi is lighting it up: Casspi has scored at least 21 points in three straight games with nine three-pointers. For the season, he is shooting 49 percent from the field and 47 percent from behind the arc. The rookie from Israel has impressed a lot of people so far with his style of play.

3. Matt Barnes is the pickup of the week: Barnes has moved in the starting lineup again and has showed his potential. Over the past two games he has scored 40 points with 15 rebounds and five three-pointers.

4. Nate Robinson is back: Robinson finally cracked the Knicks rotation and lit up the Hawks. Prior to his 41-point outburst, he did not see game action in a month. If he sees consistent minutes, then he makes a must-start again.

5. The Celtics and Blazers are banged up: Both of these teams have injuries to several key players which makes players like Glen Davis, Tony Allen, Eddie House, Jeff Pendragraph, Martell Webster, Juwan Howard, and Dante Cunningham all intriguing pickups.

Honorable mention: Nets are finally healthy, the Gilbert Arenas saga, Kobe Bryant leads the NBA in scoring 30.6, Cavs have the best record in the East.
