Schumacher: Daddy's Back
I am a Ferrari fan. I used to be a Schumacher fan - but now I am not so sure.
He retired as the greatest ever F1 racer and I was happy with that, I even came to love his replacement Kimi. But 2010 has just started all wrong. Kimi has left the team (instead of the happy and nice but ultimately never going to win the title Massa) and Schumacher has come back, - but not to Ferrari - to the enemy!
At 41, Schumacherr really could be the father to some of the new and exciting young racers we will now be watching and I am now struggling to reconcile my memories of what this genius on four wheels has done for my team and the sport and the future to be, in which he has now signed to race against everything he built.
Whilst I will watch with interest, I can no longer be part of his fan club. I am sticking with my team Ferrari. I am more than happy for Schumacher to finish 3rd in every race (behind Alonso 1st and Massa 2nd - if he can keep up) and will have no problem with him wiping the floor with the wannabe racers at Mclaren.
My worry is that maybe the season won't go the way it ought to for him. It would be sad to see the once great Schumacher trailing round at the back of the pack in a modern day Arrows car. I honestly hope it doesn't happen.
I will be very happy if he wins the first race in true style and then packs it all in again having shown the world that he could have carried on if he had wanted to. I can then sit back and (hopefully) relax as the red horse charges to another driver and constructors title.
