NFL playoff scenarios are being studied by football handicappers but more importantly, we look at who is likely out because of injury or rest for NFL week 17 odds. It’s the NFL injury and weather report for week 17.
Steelers vs. Dolphins
Steelers S Troy Polamalu is out and DE Brett Keisel is doubtful. Keisel, while lesser known of the two, is also a key starter. Neither team has been eliminated for the playoffs but each team needs to win and get a lot of help from the scores and odds.

Miami RB Ricky Williams is questionable.
Bears vs. Lions
Chicago’s leading receiver, Devin Hester is expected to return after missing three games.
Chiefs vs. Broncos
Denver is 2-7 straight up after a 6-0 start and is benching troubled WR Brandon Marshall. Another important WR Eddie Royal is very doubtful. If Royal and Marshall are both out, Denver’s top four WRs have a combined 58 catches and five TDs this season, about half of what Marshall has.
There is a small chance of snow early in this game.
Saints vs. Panthers
Saints QB Drew Brees and their best defensive player Darren Sharper will rest for the playoffs. Also not expected to play is TE David Thomas. 107-year-old Mark Brunell will start at QB.
Colts vs. Bills
Indianapolis is minus seven players and will likely rest almost all of their key starters. Several banged up starters will only be used in emergency situations. There is a 97 percent chance of snow at kickoff. Winds will be at 14 mph at kickoff, dropping to 12 as the game goes along.
Eagles vs. Cowboys
In a game most of the nation will see for NFL picks Eagles backup QB Michael Vick is expected to get extended playing time as the Eagles give the Pokes several new looks. Though both teams are in the playoffs, this game is for the NFC East Championship and for a first-round NFL playoffs bye.
Jaguars vs. Browns
Jacksonville is without WR Torry Holt, TE Mercedes Lewis, and CB Rashean Mathis. There is a 94 percent chance of snow at kickoff with winds at 19 mph.
Bengals vs. Jets
There is a 37 percent chance of snow at kickoff with wins 13-16 mph.
