The Titans Should Fire Fisher

The Titan should show Fisher the door. Its not that he is a bad coach he is a very good coach but not a great one. He hasn't done what you hire a coach for which is win the Superbowl. You want to win it all and he hasn't and can't. Bye end of story.

Why so harsh? Fisher come from the Buddy Ryan school of thought, having played and coached for him. This is clear in the offense and defense he runs. When Buddy Ryan got fired, sparking the collapse of the Eagles, people thought that's not right. But the Eagles management was saying you play for the Superbowl and he's not doing it. His style can't get us out of the playoffs. 

Fishers team has had frequent collapses and he's a little over 500 percent all time win lose ratio. He only got to one Superbowl despite having Eddie George and Steve Mcnair all time greats. The big 4 of the coaches of the 80's Bill Parcells, Steve Walsh Joe Gibbs and Jimmy Johnson never had collapses even with injuries they would go 7-9. These guys would field a Superbowl caliber team nearly every year. They created the scenario where they or their proteges shut the AFC out of the Superbowl for 13 seasons. In modern times the big 4 are Tony Dungy, Bill Belichik, Bill Cowher and Mike Holmgren (last season not withstanding) same deal, every year, come hell or high water, the team competes. This time AFC has really dominated winning 8 of the last 11 Superbowls.

You have to win the big one. Good coaches change what they are doing when they realized that it just doesn't work in the playoffs. Fisher hasn't done that, he still runs low scoring ball control offense with a running QB who can make a few big plays when you need it. That formula gets you to or close to a winning season every time. But in the playoffs you simply don't create enough separation between you and the other team, one good drive or one good stop by the defense and you lose. In the playoffs other teams are very good and they can make one stop or one drive. Imagine when you have three games against top notch defenses and offenses. Its like the run and shoot or other one dimensional offenses, they don't win in the playoffs. 

The Tennesse Titans should take the opportunity to fire Fisher at the end of the season. Unless he confesses to the error of his ways and gets a proper offense in there. If they wait then he'll have a comeback year, go 13-3, get everyone's hopes up then get knocked out of the playoffs.
