From Fan to Fiesta Bowl Press Box: A Bleacher Report Journey
I only wanted to make a comment on a Bleacher Report article. That is how it all started.
I had been reading articles on B/R for a while last year. I had no clue at first that these were written by fans or that anyone could write articles. I just wanted to make a comment.
So, in June, I finally joined B/R. Just to comment.
But that did not last. So, my first article appeared on Jul. 6th. And I turned to my long-term sports love, college football, offering a few simple fixes for college football.
Looking back, it was a nice start, getting a good number of reads and comments. And I could not stop writing. This is now my 80th article in the last six months.
I was going to write on college football, but pretty soon realized that one of my teams, TCU, did not have anyone writing about the Frogs.
So, ultimately, it was either up to me to do or wait until TCU had some success. So, I wrote about TCU in addition to college football in general.
I eventually ended up as the TCU Featured Columnist. Some of articles regarding TCU have been picked up on other sources.
And I have had a lot of fun, although I really should have spent some of this time doing things I need to do.
And now, I am heading off to the Fiesta Bowl, not as a fan, but as a credentialed reporter.
And I can only thank the Bleacher Report for giving me a forum and an opportunity to write.
Moreover, I must thank everyone who has read of my articles or left a comment. I hope that I have provided interesting articles for you and provided some insight into college football.
So, now I need to get going on my road trip to Arizona...
