So after Round 4's completion yesterday we head into our next set of matchdays. Group A takes centre stage with Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey and Czech Republic set to provide explosions galore.

So today's fixtures see Turkey play hosts Switzerland and Portugal face Czech Republic. Can Portugal and Switzerland guarentee their places in the quater finals or will last weeks losers stay in contention?

Switzerland v Turkey:

The Turks must win and Switzerland will take a draw as it would almost guarentee qualification. The latter start neverously and Emre and Turan force good saves and work openings with ease.

However the should be hosts settle into the game with Frei and Yakin beginning to influence the game. The latter forces a good save from Rustu then the game hinges on a debatable free kick.

The Turks are unsetlled by the decision and the ball is flighted in by Yakin who knocks it down to Gelson Fernandez who lashes it home on 36 minutes. 1-0.

The game doesn't pick up for another hour and just as Switzerland are set to qualify, they collapse. Senderos fails to get length on clearence and Turan hits back down the left. His cross picks out subsitute Sukur who heads home on 88 minutes. 1-1

Portugal v Czech Republic:

Portugal and Ronaldo are in reality going to bomb out in the quaters so they'll be determined to virtually make up for it. The Czech's will attempt to avoide any virtual comebacks in this game.

Ronaldo, Deco, Pepe, Quaresma, Koller, Baros. The starts are out but the game is crap. Neither team musters a shot on goal in the first half hour and its pretty boring. However my duty to Bleacher means I must watch every boring detail of this stalemate.

Half time comes and goes, and still there are no goals here. Yet the pace is quckening. Koller strikes as does Ronaldo but both miss. The breakthrough comes with Deco set to strike a rebound but he rolls it through to Nuno Gomes and his side foot makes it 1-0 on 73 minutes.

The Czech's go close with Baros striking the post late on but Luis Felipe Scolari's men hold on to qualify for the quarter finals and send the Czech's home.

Our first qualifiers come in the form of Portuagl, they now face Switzerland in a battle to top the group. Turkey will be praying for Portugal as long as they can defeat already eliminated Czech Republic.

The Germans resume their campaign after a shocking start. The Poles will fancy beating Austria and can Croatia win again? Find out tomorrow!
