Raptors Report Week Six: Turkoglu Saves Himself

Sachin AroraDec 6, 2009

After the first two games of the week, I thought that I was going to have a brutal time writing this weeks report. That proves to not be the case. After taking a tough loss to the Wizards and getting blown up by the Hawks, the Raptors brought out some solid defense against the Wiz on Friday, and blew out the Bulls on Saturday. The Raptors defense was terrible at some points (giving up 146 points to Atlanta) but was great in some games also (held the Bulls to 78 points). So to say the least, this defense is inconsistent. We needed those two wins at the end of the week, and we got them. With an easy schedule coming up, look for the Raptors to get back to .500.

Record:2-2

Performance on a Scale of 1-10: 6

Positives: Hedo Turkoglu is finally hitting some big shots. Triano is starting to realize the importance of defense, and is keeping the Raptors in games. Bosh is still playing on a high level, and Jose Calderon is finding his groove.

Negatives: The defense got spanked in Atlanta. The ability to play consistently on the road remains to be seen. There has been no word on the return of Reggie Evans, and is needed by the team ASAP.

Overall, the Raptors look like they are starting to break out of their slump, and are starting to play some good basketball.

GO RAPS!
