With all the preseason hype surrounding Eric Berry and his possible contention for a Heisman trophy, it only made sense that the University of Tennessee do everything in its power to promote Berry.

Insert "Swiperboy."

The UT basketball player/rapper rhymes about the All-American safety with a music video and a promotional theme song. Eric Berry uses the instrumental from a track called Halle Berry by Hurricane Chris. The video was a high-end production featuring cheerleaders, video effects, and highlights from Berry's career funded by the University of Tennessee's athletic department and its Eric Berry for Heisman campaign.

Well, flash forward and now we have another theme song for your listening enjoyment. This time for Alabama running back Mark Ingram and his Heisman run. "Ingy" as it has come to be known is the latest installment of the wave of songs for Heisman hopefuls.

Unlike Eric Berry, "Ingy" is produced not by the university, but by local talent in the Flint, Michigan area. The song does not have an official video per se, but does feature images from Ingram's career at Alabama as well as in high school in Michigan. Unlike Eric Berry, the rappers in the "Ingy" song portray the "Ingy" as a dance rather than paying homage to a person.

"I think it's pretty catchy and creative," said Ashley Atwell, a junior at the University of Alabama.

"I think it's silly," said Nic Gulas, a senior majoring in telecommunication and film at the university. "It's just a garbage song that all Bammers want to latch onto because it's about one of the guys at their school."

No matter how you feel about the song, as we become more and more viral as a society, more and more avenues are becoming open for people to get involved in supporting their favorite athletes. We will see if "Ingy" will push Ingram to the next level in the Heisman voting.
