On September 15, 2009, Vick was activated to the Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster. He was activated under the negotiations of a 1 year, 1.6 million dollar contract with the option for 2010 negotiations that could total the sum of 5 million dollars if agreed upon.
So far, Michael Vick while signed with the Philadelphia Eagles has played 6 games, none as a starter, in which he has accumulated a total of 6 passing yards off of 6 attempts and 2 completions; while as a scrambling QB he has gained a total of 27 yards off of 12 attempts. Not so good of numbers when he was once noted as being a 2 time pro-bowl QB that set a leading record of 7.5 yards a carry rushing, and had been ranked third all-time by NFL QB’s for having over 900 yards total rushing yards as a career total.
Just think, this is all over a dog fighting scandal in which as Michael Vick was being tried, the Atlanta Falcons sent a letter to Vick demanding that he reimburse them for $20 million of the $37 million bonus. Wow! He only had to pay back 19 million of it, but still, a once up-n-coming prolific quarterback charged with something as petty as dog fighting ruining a professional career in which he was earning with endorsements had been estimated at around 37 million dollars.
Well now the news is that Vick is disappointed with the way his contract is being played out with the Eagles and the Eagles are trying to seek out other assessable options with Michael Vick as rumors of a trade a are brewing amongst the Eagles locker-room. Will Vick stay in Philly or will his net worth as a valuable QB land him in the hands of another team next season?
