The first week of BCS rankings have been released and we can see they are very similar to this week's 11 Best 11s.

Additionally, the elite prognosticators of Baby's Losers seem to have nailed the flow of  who is for real among the national college scene.

Favorite teams are steaming towards a showdown in the near future, but this week may be the annual "Upset Saturday." Beware the witching season.

Baby's Losers for the Fourth Saturday in October

1. Connecticut @ West Virginia

Sadness descended upon the Huskies' campus Saturday night as starting cornerback Jasper Howard was stabbed to death in an altercation. Howard's unfortunate passing should inspire UConn to produce a great effort dedicated to his memory.

Baby's Loser, close: Connecticut.

2. Penn State @ Michigan

Turning point. This game will decide the future of both teams as they battle for a New Year's Day bowl invitation. Prior to last season's win, the Nittany Lions had lost nine straight games to the Wolverines. Penn State had better be ready for a battle.

Baby's Loser, tight: Michigan.

3. Oregon @ Washington

Obviously the Husky program is on the road back. A tough loss last week in the desert to Dennis Erickson's Sun Devils will either inspire or deflate UW. Look for a nail-biter.

Baby's Loser: Washington.

4. Boston College @ Notre Dame

These great rivals will pound each other until one team finally controls the line of scrimmage and in essence, the game. A vote for Jimmy Clausen to survive.

Baby's Loser, in what could be the best game of the day: Boston College.

5. Clemson @ Miami

Now here is one team that doesn't respect the history of the "U" program at all. The Tiger fans derisively chant "overrated" whenever they see the Hurricanes and have the athletes to back it up.

C.J. Spiller, playing before his home state fans, should have a field day against Miami and his great talent could engineer the upset of the afternoon.

Baby's Loser, in a thriller: Clemson.

6. Auburn @ LSU

Perfect scenario for Auburn to pull off a big surprise in the annual "Tiger Bowl" of the SEC West. With a nod and a wink to the home team, LSU must survive or else their division title hopes are finished for the season.

Baby's Loser: Auburn.

7. Texas @ Missouri

The Longhorns have not looked like a dominating machine this year, but they have yet to lose a game. Colt McCoy's fingernail may be a problem on the rock hard carpet at Mizzou. Look for Texas to avoid the upset bid of talented Missouri.

Baby's Loser: Missouri.

Saturday's Tough One

8. Texas Christian @ Brigham Young

A highly-anticipated confrontation the country has been waiting to see for weeks. Two rugged Mountain West powers will clash in what should be the game of the year in the Mountain Time zone. The men from Fort Worth find a way to escape on the road.

Baby's Loser: Brigham Young.

Game of the Week

9. Tennessee @ Alabama

Records aside, this affair may not be the beatdown many are predicting. The Crimson Tide has the pressure of chasing Florida in the BCS rankings, but that will not be the primary motivation when the game begins.

The Volunteers have beaten Alabama 10 times in the past 15 years and see no reason to throw in the towel this week as they have reinvented themselves under new coach Lane Kiffin. The Vols' defense has surrendered only seven touchdowns all season.

Baby's Loser: Tennessee.

Baby Tate last week: 7-2. Missed Iowa and Texas Tech. For the year: 45-18.

9-0: Trey J.—Congratulations, terrific work in a tough week.

8-1: Gil HHH—Missed only Texas Tech over Nebraska. Outstanding performance.

7-2: Baby Tate, Ronnie, Red Raider, Tim C., Tom O., Michael O., Brandon H., Blake B.,  Bill B., Scott R., and Taylor. Traveling in style.

6-3: 12, Dan B., Brad F., Illya, 007, Tyler S., Matt S., HD, Kevin M., Cliff, Ryan R., Connor, James W., Jared. Big money winners depending on where they lay their play.

5-4: Harry, Run Tell Matt, Kimberley, Kent, Mosang, Tim P., Alex F., Ga Dawg, Southern Man, Tony O., Daniel H., Ben Long, Josh M., Stephen S., Andrew. Big timers.

Below Baby Tate's Mendoza Line For This Week:Jim M., D.S., Michael C., Carl, Tyler, and Drew. These are usually heavy hitters who just went into a one week slump.
