Jerry Jones Says 'Everything's in Place' for NFL on Ezekiel Elliott Suspension

Alec NathanJul 29, 2017

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterated Saturday the NFL should make its ruling on a suspension for running back Ezekiel Elliott soon.

"Everything’s in place to make a decision," Jones said, according to the Associated Press' Schuyler Dixon

On Thursday, Jones told SiriusXM's Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt he believed the NFL had all the information it needed to officially close the case.

"I think we’ll have a decision imminently," Jones said. "Of course, I don’t know what that will be and wouldn’t want to have conjecture in any way involving that.

"What I have seen, though, is the presentation of Zeke and his people and I’ve seen the league’s presentation. There’s no domestic violence involved here."

It remains unclear when a ruling will be handed down. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday that one would not be made before Monday.

On July 22, TMZ Sports published a statement from the woman who accused Elliott of domestic violence in July 2016.

"Exactly 1 year ago today my life changed forever," she wrote in a post on social media. "Loving someone as much as I did putting my all in no matter what happened. I finally got the strength to be the strong woman I was and got myself out of a very toxic relationship. Ladies never think you're too in love or too scared to leave because at one point that was me. There's plenty of opportunities out there for you. Love yourself first. Speak up and stop domestic violence."

Elliott's representatives have steadfastly denied the allegations.
