Earlier this week, fight fans hanging out at Muscle Beach in Venice, California, believed they encountered none other than UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor roughly one month before his upcoming boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

Unfortunately for those individuals, they were merely victims of an elaborate hoax.

As Andrew Joseph of For The Win explained, professional weightlifter and street workout athlete Islam Badurgov impersonated McGregor and apparently convinced plenty of people he was the outspoken Irishman even though he's noticeably larger than the 155-pound champion. 

While Badurgov's accent needs some work, you have to give him credit for practicing his version of McGregor's famous walk and for finding an artist capable of replicating the fighter's tattoos. 

Odds are at least one fan in the above video is going to feel rather silly when they learn they were duped.
