Jon Jones Says He'd Love to Fight Brock Lesnar on Facebook Live Q&A Session

Alec NathanJul 25, 2017

Jon Jones has a huge fight ahead of him Saturday at UFC 214 when he'll square off against Daniel Cormier and try to reclaim the light heavyweight title, but he's already entertaining the thought of a future bout against one of the sport's biggest names.

Appearing on Facebook Live Tuesday, Jones responded to a fan question about a possible fight with Brock Lesnar and said he would "love" to fight the former heavyweight champ.

"I would love to fight Brock Lesnar," Jones said. "He's a massive dude. I mean, it would be a massive draw. Really big for the sport. It'd be a great challenge. That's a big ole' boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though."

Jones' complete comments can be viewed with 1:10 remaining in the video below:

Jones' comments come less than a week after UFC denied a report that Lesnar had re-entered the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency testing pool after he tested positive twice for clomiphene around his UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt.

Lesnar was subsequently suspended for one year by USADA after the Nevada State Athletic Commission hit him with a one-year ban and a $250,000 fine.

"If he ever re-entered the program, he'd have to serve [the duration of the suspension] before he'd be able to compete," UFC vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky told MMA Fighting's Marc Raimondi

If Jones and Lesnar were to go head-to-head in the Octagon, it would represent a serious tactical challenge since Bones would be at a significant disadvantage in the size department.

"I definitely wouldn’t try to wrestle with him the whole time," Jones added. "I can’t tell you what I would do."

For now, he can focus on perfecting his game plan for Saturday's showdown with Cormier, who he'll be looking to defeat for the second time in two years when they clash at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
